The Village at Heritage Point is a not–for–profit retirement community offering an independent and active lifestyle for senior adults ages 62 and up. Located in West Virginia's Monongalia County, The Village is convenient to both the natural splendor of unspoiled woodland and the more sophisticated offerings of Morgantown.

The Village at Heritage Point is affiliated with Mon General Hospital, the area's premier community–based health care provider for over 50 years. As a continuing care community, The Village at Heritage Point offers 90 maintenance–free residential living apartments and The Suites at Heritage Point includes 40 residential care (similar to assisted living) apartments.

In addition, all residents have access to lovely, country–club style amenities, activity and wellness programs, services such as housekeeping, transportation and so much more!

History

The idea of developing a top–quality retirement community in the area was presented at the Greater Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce Vision 2000 initiative in 1993. A citizen committee was formed to develop the concept and secure a site and developer. These objectives were accomplished, and in November 1997, the Mon Health System stepped forward to sponsor the project.

The Village at Heritage Point opened its doors in July 1999, followed by The Suites at Heritage Point in September, but that was just the beginning. The Village at Heritage Point Departments

So that you may know how the various departments at The Village at Heritage Point fit together, here is a brief explanation of our organization.  The Village at Heritage Point is organized as follows: 

Administrative Services
Administrative Services is headed by the Executive Director, Daphne Schreiber, CASP, who has full responsibility and authority over all departments and staff at The Village at Heritage Point.  Administrative Services is open during normal business hours.

Dining Services
Dining Services are coordinated by the Director of Dining Services, Chef Nader Tehrani.  Full meal service for lunch and dinner is available in the Dining Room of The Village at Heritage Point during regularly scheduled hours.  The Dining Services Department also offers exceptional catering for special events.

Housekeeping Services
Residents of The Village at Heritage Point receive housekeeping services for their apartment home on a twice-monthly basis.  A team of housekeepers, under the careful direction of the Environmental Services Director, Dave Rosko, ensures that all apartment homes and common areas are clean and orderly.

Maintenance Services
Maintenance Services, also under the direction of the Environmental Services Director, is responsible for the repair and maintenance of the exterior and interior of the community, as well as care and upkeep of the community grounds and landscaping.  Various preventative maintenance activities and projects are an ongoing part of Maintenance services.

Marketing
The Marketing Department is responsible for promoting The Village at Heritage Point and The Suites at Heritage Point.  Any inquiries received regarding The Village at Heritage Point (Residential Living) or The Suites at Heritage Point (Residential Care- similar to assisted living) are referred to the Director of Marketing, Rebecca Burton.

Residential Care (The Suites at Heritage Point)
Residential Care (similar to assisted living) offers the benefit of supervised apartment living to residents who require some assistance with activities of daily living.  The Suites at Heritage Point is under the direction of a licensed Registered Nurse, Wilma Sternthal, RN, BSN.  Under her direction, Licensed Practical Nurses and Nursing Assistants provide assistance and support to residents who meet the licensing criteria of The Suites at Heritage Point, 24 hours per day.

Resident Services
A variety of activities and programs are offered and supervised by the Director of Resident Services, Janet Graber.  The Director of Resident Services also coordinates Transportation Services, Volunteers, The Village Café, the Fitness Room, and the Beauty Salon.
